| This class is designed to help you become proficient with word processing and documents used at KHS, in the work place, and in college. Microsoft Word and Power Point are the applications used. Emphasis is placed on using the touch method of keying with speed and accuracystressed. Correct keying technique is very important. Documents included in the first semester are: memos, centering, MLA style reports, and personal letters. | Additional features of Microsoft Word and Power Point are used in Word Processing IB. Documents presented include tables, tabs, columns, and graphics; along with documents learned in WP IA. A comprehensive employment unit is used in WP IB. Documents keyed are resumes, cover letters, thank you letters, and application forms are completed. Students will start their own resume which they can use as they continue through high school and use when applying for a job. This class will introduce you to the powerful spreadsheet application - Excel. |
A continuation of Word Processing I-A & B. Emphasis is placed on
correct document format in various business documents. Time
management is stressed when working on assignments in class.
Students are able to complete problems with limited instruction,
relying on their past keyboarding classes. Additional office skills
including 10-key adding machine, filing, and legal document keying
are included. An Employment Unit is covered and forms discussed and
keyed are resumes, cover letters, and thank you letters. The
students will continue to add to their own resume started in WP I.
Students will work on Excel during the fourth quarter. |
